THE SHELL IS ONLY ONE PART OF THE POOL

Choose the Model and the Installation Together

A fiberglass pool arrives as a manufactured one-piece shell with its shape, depth, steps, benches, and colour already defined. That can streamline on-site construction and create a smooth, consistent interior, but it also makes model selection, delivery access, excavation, base preparation, plumbing, backfill, water placement, and coping coordination especially important.

Diamond Decks & Pools is an authorized PENTARM POOLS installer. We help homeowners compare the actual dimensions and features of available shells, then design the surrounding yard so the pool, patio, deck, drainage, equipment, fencing, and landscaping work as one space.

WHY HOMEOWNERS CHOOSE FIBERGLASS

A Refined Pool With a Predictable Form

Fiberglass suits homeowners who value a smooth factory finish, selected built-in features, and a more defined installation sequence.

A GOOD INSTALLATION BEGINS BEFORE THE CRANE ARRIVES

Plan Access, Support, Water, and Backfill as One Sequence

The shell must reach the excavation safely and be supported as the manufacturer requires. Crane position, overhead lines, neighbours, trees, gate openings, haul routes, soil, groundwater, drainage, and the surrounding patio all affect the installation plan.

Before and During the Shell Set

  • Confirm the exact model, orientation, dimensions, depths, steps, and ledges.
  • Survey delivery and crane access, overhead constraints, excavation, and soil conditions.
  • Prepare the base and set the shell level according to the selected system.
  • Coordinate plumbing, water placement, backfill, and shell support in the required sequence.

Around the Finished Pool

  • Design coping, interlock, decking, movement details, drainage, and service access.
  • Locate pumps, filters, heaters, controls, lights, and utilities for practical operation.
  • Coordinate required fencing, gates, electrical work, permits, and inspections.
  • Plan furniture zones, shade, planting, privacy, lighting, and routes from the house.

COMPARE THE POOL YOU WILL OWN, NOT JUST THE BUILD

Fiberglass or Vinyl Liner?

Both can create beautiful GTA backyards. The choice changes the shape options, interior surface, future renewal, access needs, and installation sequence.

Fiberglass Pools

  • Choose from manufacturer moulds with fixed dimensions and built-in features.
  • Smooth factory-applied interior surface without a replaceable liner.
  • One-piece shell requires a workable delivery and crane plan.
  • Colour, chemistry, installation, and care must follow manufacturer guidance.
  • Shell, surface, equipment, and workmanship warranties may have different terms.

Best fit: homeowners who like an available shell design and value a smooth, manufactured pool interior.

Vinyl Liner Pools

  • Wall system and liner allow more flexibility in pool dimensions and geometry.
  • Soft liner surface with many pattern choices.
  • Liner is a replaceable component and will eventually require renewal.
  • Installation does not require delivery of a full one-piece shell.
  • Water chemistry, groundwater, drainage, and liner care still matter.

Best fit: homeowners who prioritize custom shape or size flexibility and accept planned liner replacement.

WHAT SHAPES THE ESTIMATE

Fiberglass Pool Cost Extends Beyond the Shell

A model price does not describe a completed backyard. Delivery, crane, excavation, soil, groundwater, utilities, equipment, coping, patio, fencing, access restoration, and landscaping all affect the investment.

FIBERGLASS POOL FAQS

Answers That Go Beyond “Fast Installation”

The shell can streamline construction, but site conditions, logistics, equipment, and the surrounding yard still deserve careful planning.

Ask About Fiberglass Pools
A fiberglass pool uses a one-piece shell manufactured in a mould before it arrives at the property. The shape, dimensions, steps, benches, ledges, depths, and interior finish are part of the selected model. The shell is set into a prepared excavation and connected to the planned plumbing and equipment.
Cost depends on shell model and colour, freight, crane access, excavation, soil and groundwater, base and backfill, plumbing, equipment, heating, electrical work, coping, patio or deck, fencing, landscaping, permits, and restoration. A shell-only figure should not be treated as the cost of a finished backyard.
The shell-setting phase can be relatively streamlined, but the complete schedule depends on design, permits, utility locates, access, excavation, soil, weather, crane logistics, plumbing, equipment, inspections, coping, hardscape, fencing, and landscaping. We provide a project schedule based on the actual property rather than promising a universal number of days.
You customize by selecting from available manufacturer models, dimensions, depths, steps, benches, ledges, integrated spa options, colours, equipment, lights, coping, and the surrounding landscape. The moulded shell itself is not freely reshaped on site, so confirming the exact model is an important early decision.
Fiberglass pools are installed in Ontario, but climate suitability depends on correct shell support, drainage, groundwater planning, plumbing, equipment, winterization, and manufacturer requirements. No pool type is protected from poor installation or neglected water and winter care.
Hydrostatic pressure and groundwater can affect any in-ground pool system. Risk management depends on site drainage, groundwater conditions, water level, installation details, and following professional and manufacturer guidance. A pool should not be drained casually without understanding the property and shell requirements.
The smooth non-porous interior can be easier to brush and does not require liner replacement or plaster resurfacing in the same way as those systems. The pool still needs balanced water, circulation, filtration, cleaning, winterization, equipment service, and adherence to surface-care instructions.
Coverage varies by manufacturer and may separate structural shell, gelcoat or surface, tile, equipment, and workmanship terms. Exclusions, registration, water chemistry, installation, winter care, and transferability should be reviewed in the actual documents. Diamond Decks does not replace manufacturer terms with a broad verbal promise.
Municipal permits, zoning, fencing, gate, electrical, grading, tree, conservation, and other requirements depend on the property and municipality. An automatic cover or backyard condition should not be assumed to replace required barriers. Current local rules must be confirmed for the specific address.

Product features and warranty terms should be confirmed in the current PENTARM POOLS documentation. Toronto projects should follow the current municipal pool fence enclosure guidance where applicable. Requirements and product specifications can change.
