OUR WARRANTY APPROACH

Two Types of Coverage, One Clear Place to Start

When something does not look or perform as expected, you should not have to guess whether the concern relates to installation or the product itself. Contact Diamond first. We can review the project scope, site conditions, installation details, and applicable product documentation with you.

Our five-year workmanship warranty and the manufacturer warranty serve different purposes. One relates to qualifying workmanship completed by Diamond; the other relates to the product under the manufacturer’s written terms. Keeping that distinction clear helps set realistic expectations and directs each concern to the right process.

Warranty planning begins before construction. We review suitable products, installation requirements, care expectations, and available manufacturer coverage as part of material selection for decks, pools, stonework, and outdoor structures.

Warranty at a Glance

  • Five years: Diamond’s workmanship warranty period
  • Five to 50 years: typical range of available manufacturer warranties, depending on the selected product
  • Written terms matter: coverage, limits, maintenance, registration, transferability, and remedies vary
  • Start with Diamond: we help review concerns involving work within our contracted scope

This page is a plain-language overview. The signed project contract, Diamond warranty documentation, and applicable manufacturer warranty documents govern actual coverage.

KNOW WHICH WARRANTY APPLIES

Workmanship and Product Coverage Are Not the Same

Both matter, but they are issued by different parties and answer different questions.

Diamond’s Workmanship Warranty

  • Provides five years of coverage under Diamond’s written workmanship warranty terms
  • Addresses eligible deficiencies caused by workmanship completed within Diamond’s contracted scope
  • Is reviewed against the approved design, contract, scope, installation details, site conditions, and maintenance history
  • Keeps Diamond as your first point of contact when you have a concern about our work
  • Uses an inspection and project-record review to determine the appropriate next step

Best first step: Contact Diamond with the project address, a description of the concern, and clear photos.

Manufacturer Product Warranties

  • Range from five to 50 years depending on the product, manufacturer, collection, and purchase date
  • May cover specific materials, finishes, components, equipment, fading, staining, or structural performance
  • Can have separate coverage periods for different parts of the same product system
  • May require proof of purchase, product registration, approved installation, prescribed care, and a manufacturer claim
  • Are governed entirely by the manufacturer’s current written terms, exclusions, remedies, and transfer rules

Important distinction: A long product warranty is not a guaranteed service life and does not automatically include labour.

PROTECTING YOUR COVERAGE

Good Records and Timely Care Make Warranty Review Easier

Outdoor materials live through sun, moisture, freeze-thaw cycles, pool chemistry, snow, soil movement, and daily use. Warranty coverage is strongest when the installed system is maintained as intended and concerns are documented before conditions change.

Exact responsibilities and exclusions come from the signed contract and applicable warranty documents. When anything is unclear, ask us before using a treatment, altering the work, or arranging a third-party repair.

Helpful Homeowner Steps

  • Keep the contract, selections, invoices, care guides, and product warranty documents
  • Complete product registration when the manufacturer requires it
  • Follow the care, cleaning, drainage, water chemistry, and winterization guidance for the installed system
  • Report a concern promptly and include dated photos or video when possible
  • Allow reasonable access for review before permanent repairs or alterations are made

Factors That May Affect Coverage

  • Normal wear, weathering, colour variation, or natural material characteristics
  • Misuse, impact, neglect, unsuitable cleaning products, or missed maintenance
  • Work, modifications, repairs, or equipment changes completed by others
  • Pre-existing conditions or concealed site issues outside the contracted scope
  • Events, loads, movement, drainage conditions, or damage beyond the written warranty terms

RESPONSIBLE CONTRACTOR PROTECTION

WSIB and Liability Insurance Protect the Project Differently

Diamond Decks & Pools is covered under WSIB and carries $5 million in liability insurance. These protections reflect responsible contractor operations during construction and are separate from both the workmanship warranty and manufacturer product warranties.

Insurance and WSIB coverage do not extend a product warranty or replace the written workmanship terms. Together, however, they give homeowners a clearer picture of the company standing behind the project before, during, and after construction.

Ask for Current Documentation

Coverage documents can change or renew over time. Homeowners may request current confirmation relating to WSIB and liability insurance as part of the project review process.

WARRANTY QUESTIONS

Clear Answers Before You Need Support

Understanding the documents now makes product selection, maintenance, and any future review much simpler.

Contact Diamond
Diamond provides a five-year workmanship warranty. Actual coverage, conditions, limitations, and remedies are governed by the warranty terms and signed contract for the project.
Manufacturer warranties generally range from five to 50 years depending on the product, collection, manufacturer, and purchase date. Different components within the same project can have different warranty periods. Current written terms should be reviewed before final selection.
Not automatically. Manufacturer warranties commonly define their own product remedies and may limit or exclude removal, labour, shipping, disposal, refinishing, or reinstallation costs. The exact document for the selected product controls.
Contact Diamond first when the concern relates to a project we completed. Send the project address, a clear description, when you first noticed it, and photos or video. We can review whether the concern appears related to workmanship, a manufacturer process, maintenance, site conditions, or another cause.
Yes. Cleaning methods, coatings, drainage, water chemistry, winterization, ventilation, debris, inspections, and other care can affect performance and eligibility under some warranties. Follow the guidance supplied for the specific materials and systems installed.
Transfer rules vary. Some warranties are transferable only once, for a limited period, after registration, or not at all. Review the current manufacturer document rather than assuming coverage follows the property.
No. Diamond’s WSIB coverage and $5 million liability insurance are separate contractor protections. They do not lengthen or replace the five-year workmanship warranty or a manufacturer’s product warranty.
